UNCLE was intended as a more light-hearted version of the Bond films, but the films were already tongue in cheek, so UNCLE became increasingly comedic as the four seasons went on. The premiere season was the best, starting with the opening explainer, then going on to (mostly) serious stories, and a terrific Jerry Goldsmith theme: lots of brass and percussion, with a quirky 5/4 time signature. For future seasons the theme would be played in conventional 4/4 time and jazzed up considerably. Sounds like Lalo Schifrin may have arranged the season two version; three and four got increasingly further from Goldsmith's original. All are included here.
It's hard not to like Stephanie Powers but 'Girl From' was sometimes closer to the campy Batman series than any kind of spy adventure. Her theme was an even more cacophonous version of Goldsmith's original.

Man and woman meet, marry, each bringing three children to the newly blended family. A 'Brady Bunch' for the 1990s, the show ran for seven seasons, six of them as as staple of ABC's TGIF block. The theme, 'Second Time Around', is by Jesse Fredrick and Benny Salvay, performed by Frederick and Teresa James. Wiki is correct that the theme got shorter and shorter as the seasons went on, but they are incorrect when they say the full version ran 87 seconds. There may have been a version of that length but OUR full version runs 110 seconds, and comes straight from an ABC network broadcast. We also have one of the short versions, plus the infrequently heard end credits instrumental.

The 1970s sure were a different time. Kids bought cigarettes for their parents, Jimmy Carter was elected President, and “Disco Duck” was a hit on the radio - all things that just wouldn’t fly today. Over time what a society deems acceptable changes, and suddenly things that seemed alright forty five years ago make you cringe in hindsight. This is especially true in the world of 70s sitcoms, where jokes that had you rolling on the floor in 73 now make your jaw drop. I’m Nostalgic Nick for Doyouremember and today we’re going to be looking at some of the best 1970s sitcoms that just wouldn’t fly today. Be sure to hit the thumbs up and subscribe to our channel as that is still allowed, but now, it’s time to cringe!

The Beverly Hillbillies is an American sitcom television series originally broadcast on CBS from 1962 to 1971. The show had an ensemble cast featuring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer Jr. as the Clampetts, a poor backwoods family from the Ozarks region who move to posh Beverly Hills, California, after striking oil on their land. The show was produced by Filmways and was created by writer Paul Henning. It was followed by two other Henning-inspired "country cousin" series on CBS: Petticoat Junction, and its spin-off Green Acres, which reversed the rags-to-riches, country-to-city model of The Beverly Hillbillies.

The Beverly Hillbillies ranked among the top 20 most-watched programs on television for eight of its nine seasons, twice ranking as the number one series of the year, with a number of episodes that remain among the most-watched television episodes in history. It accumulated seven Emmy nominations during its run. The series remains in syndicated reruns, and its ongoing popularity spawned a 1993 film remake by 20th Century Fox.

Bonanza - Episode 63 - The Secret - Joe is accused of murdering a girl. Her father and brothers want to hang Joe and the Cartwrights race to prove his innocence.

The Secret
Director: Robert Altman
Writer: John Hawkins
Stars: Lorne Greene, Pernell Roberts, Dan Blocker
Genre: Western
Country: USA
Language: English
Release Date: 6 May 1961 USA
Filming Locations: Paramount Studios - 5555 Melrose Avenue, Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA

Little Joe Cartwright is hauled into court, accused of murdering a pregnant girl named Mary Parson. The girl's father Jake (Crahan Denton) and her brothers all claim that Mary planned to elope with Joe on the night of her death, which is news to Joe. Helping to tighten the noose around the youngest Cartwright's neck is the prosecution's main witness: Joe's old friend John Hardner (Russell Collins). Written on

"That pinto horse and lefthanded holster are a trademark for Little Joe Cartwright. In this Bonanza episode a very careful frame is used with those things to get Michael Landon accused of murder.

The victim is a rancher's daughter who was allegedly going out with Landon. All news to Little Joe. The story is a tragedy and the real murderer is some piece pf work.

You'll figure out who it is. Still a good story." Written by bkoganbing on

"When Pete, the murdered girls brother, sneaks up behind Ben and Little Joe as they leave their house,Pete threatens them with a gun. Ben wheels around, fires his gun,and nicks Pete. However, you will notice that it appears Ben's gun goes off prematurely, looking like it goes off toward the ground right at a sprawling Little Joe. Whatever charge the film makers used to show smoke coming from the gun when the trigger was pulled,is clearly seen going off early, and it also seems as if Ben was pointing it right at Little Joe. Besides this minor goof, i found the episode to be well written, and very entertaining. I would say that it is very well worth watching." Written by calderone1921 on
